Week 3 2/23
So far for my 20 Time Project we have decided what countries we are going to make the ethnic foods from. We have started to look into which foods we are going to make from those countries, that will probably be what we do this week. I also have conducted an interview with a foreign exchange student from France who have given us some ideas for French food to make. She told us about Gratin Dauphinois and Fondant au Chocolat. One is a potato dish that is very common and it is one of her favorite meals and the other is a chocolate dessert that is like a chocolate cupcake filled with chocolate syrup. I can't wait to try it! I have also talked to one of my friends named Anjali who is from India and she said she would be willing to help teach us to make her favorite Indian dishes and I am excited about that too! That is as far as we have gotten so far but will be making more progress this week!

Checking in
SassyPants:
What an interesting idea. You may want to add to your list of questions what are staple foods of the world (wheat, rice, tapioca, etc. ). Something you girls might also consider is how you can learn to cook ethnic foods from the people who make it. There are so many different cultures present in our school you can learn from. Is there a way you can collaborate with ELL students and they can teach you?
Let me know if this is at all of interest to you girls or not so we can connect with ELL teachers and see if students are interested in participating.

Week 1 2/2
My proposal is that Cassie and I are going to make foods from different countries and learn how to cook them. The process for me was that I started off with a lot of different ideas and I had no idea what I was going to do. I started with the idea of Random Acts of Kindness and helping the homeless and the less fortunate in our community, but I didn't know how I would do that because I wouldn't be able to document my process with it. The next idea I had was cooking. I chose this because I don't know how to cook very many things and I have always been interested in it. I came up with the idea of cooking ethnic foods after reading Cassie's proposal and she wanted to do cooking as well but her idea was doing the ethnic foods idea and I figured we could work together on the idea.
So far, my accomplishments are finding a topic I want to do my 20 Time Project on. I have also found a partner I am working with. So far nothing has gone wrong but Cassie and I are not sure if this is the right idea or if working together will work for this but we are going to give it a shot.
Next week during 20 Time I would like to choose the countries we are going to try to make food from and look into what foods are their best and most popular dishes. I am excited to see where this project takes us!
